Oil in tea

Sometimes when brewing tea, you can notice small oily spots floating on the surface of the brewed tea. This can happen when brewing tea which has been roasted, for example, in a large pan or wok.

Blooming tea

Flowering tea or blooming tea is a special kind of tea. In the dry form, it looks like a tight ball. This ball is hand-made from dried tea leaves twisted around one or several dried flowers.

Taitung county (臺東縣) is the third largest county in Taiwan, located on the island's southeastern coast with the Pacific on its eastern border and the Central Mountain Range on the western. It has an area of 3515 kilometers, one tenth of Taiwan's area, and has a population of around 240000. Taitung county is a home of the “low attitude champion” Fulu Oolong Tea.

Spring and winter teas in Taiwan – what is the difference?

Currently, there is an opinion that the difference between spring and winter teas is erased, and they are becoming more similar in their taste. Winters are getting less cold, the weather is more unstable, all this leads to such changes.

The Life Cycle of a Tea Tree

We would like to share insights into each of these stages, starting with the moment a seedling first sprouts from a seed, and concluding with the stage of old age, when the tree can still continue to yield tea leaves for decades, and how this impacts the final quality of the tea.

The 10th of October or «Double Tenth Day» is a main national holiday in Taiwan. This day is considered the foundation day of the first Republic of China.

10 (ten) is written as 十, and this gives this sign to the holiday.
