Authentic Taste of Milk Oolong from Taiwan

Sometimes we get questions from our customers why Taiwanese milk oolong is not as “milky” as the tea they used to buy.

To answer this question, let's consider the technologies by which milk oolong can be produced in the order of "legitimacy" to be called true milk oolong.

1. Milk oolong Jin Xuan, the delicate milky taste, which depends only on the production process (Here you can read more in our article “How is Milk Oolong made”). And only this tea can be called a true milk oolong.
2. Milk oolong is grown with home brew fertilizer made from milky substances. Eggs, milk powder, soybean- and fishmeal, honey are used for fertilizer.
3. Artificially flavored milk-oolong, flavor added after initial tea processing.

How to determine that you have a true milk oolong?

If the aroma and taste is very strong, overwhelming, then most likely this tea was artificially flavored.

If the flavor diminishes or disappears after the first brew, or from brew to brew, then the tea most likely contains artificial additives.

All milk oolongs that are presented in our store are natural, that is, grown without additives, and the delicate milky aroma and taste is the result of a verified production technology. And, of course, such tea will not have a pronounced milky taste, but only a light and delicate.
