Rare Selected Light Baked Sun Link Sea Alpine Oolong is a light-baked oolong tea sourced from a small family-owned farm in the Shanlinxi Forest Recreation Area (also known as the Sun Link Sea Forest Recreation Area) in Nantou County.

This exclusive oolong is produced in very small quantities. The tea bushes thrive on high-mountain plantation within an ecologically clean environment. Harvested in spring, the raw material for this tea consists of freshly picked rich buds with two young leaves. After harvesting, the buds and leaves are mashed to extract juice, and fermentation begins. The tea leaves then undergo oxidation through exposure to air. Following fermentation, the tea is fried in boilers for a specific duration.

Being a light-baked oolong, it undergoes a gentle baking process, which may involve slight additional processing or drying.

  • Taste: The Rare Selected Light Baked Sun Link Sea Alpine Oolong features a gentler and smoother taste with a more subtle aftertaste. The flavor is well-balanced and nuanced, emphasizing taste over aroma.
  • Aroma: Delicate and sweet, the tea’s aroma carries light floral accents and hints of honey.

Leaves: are green, compact, rolled into small balls, which are straighten during brewing.

Brewing

You can use any kind of tea pot, but clay tea pot suits much better.

Warm up the tea pot with the boiling water, put 2-3 grams of tea, and pour small amount of the boiling water into the tea and pour out, then pour 225-250 ml of boiling water and cover tea pot for three minutes before serving.

Boiling temperature – 85-95°C (185-203°F). You can use this amount of tea 8 to 10 times.

The tea leaves come unrolled for full flavor.

Additional information

This is one of the traditional ways of brewing. Depending on individual gustatory preferences you can vary brewing time from 35s to 5 minutes.

You can also use Chinese traditional way of brewing - spilling, using Gaiwan and brew for 3-5 second each time.

Please note, that it is natural tea with high content of active elements, including caffeine, and minerals and some unusual feelings could appear. In that case we recommend decrease quantity of dry leaves and brewing time.
