Sun Link Sea Long Feng Xia Cao-Nao-Zai (Wangyou Forest) is an ultra-high-mountain oolong grown at approximately 2,200 meters above sea level in Nantou County. The tea gardens are located near Wangyou Forest, at the highest reaches of Long Feng Xia in the renowned Sun Link Sea tea-growing region.

This relatively new and isolated growing area has a remarkable history. Following the devastating 921 Earthquake in 1999, a natural barrier lake formed near Cao-Nao-Zai, an already highly regarded tea-growing area. The surrounding forests have since remained protected from further development, preserving an exceptionally clean and undisturbed mountain environment.

Fed by pure mountain water and surrounded by pristine forest, the tea gardens benefit from cool temperatures, frequent mist, and the slow growth characteristic of Taiwan’s highest-elevation tea regions. These conditions allow the leaves to develop exceptional depth, fragrance, and sweetness while retaining the fresh character typical of high-mountain oolong.

Leaves: Tightly rolled, substantial green leaves with olive and deep-green tones, unfolding into thick, supple leaves after brewing.

Taste

The liquor is clear and smooth, with an elegant high-mountain fragrance and a refined floral character. The taste is clean, fresh, and naturally sweet, with a soft, rounded texture and a noticeable sense of depth. Subtle vegetal and forest-like notes complement the floral sweetness, while the finish is long, cooling, and persistent.

A distinctive ultra-high-mountain oolong that combines the clarity and elegance of Long Feng Xia tea with the pristine character of one of its most remote growing areas.

Brewing

You can use any kind of tea pot, but clay tea pot suits much better.

Warm up the tea pot with the boiling water, put 2-3 grams of tea, and pour small amount of the boiling water into the tea and pour out, then pour 225-250 ml of boiling water and cover tea pot for three minutes before serving.

Boiling temperature – 85-95°C (185-203°F). You can use this amount of tea 3 to 4 times.

The tea leaves come unrolled for full flavor.

Additional information

This is one of the traditional ways of brewing. Depending on individual gustatory preferences you can vary brewing time from 35s to 5 minutes.

You can also use Chinese traditional way of brewing - spilling, using Gaiwan and brew for 3-5 second each time.

Please note, that it is natural tea with high content of active elements, including caffeine, and minerals and some unusual feelings could appear. In that case we recommend decrease quantity of dry leaves and brewing time.
